Shalom Hot
Meal Program
The Shalom House began serving meals in the old Stokes school in 2003. Three years later, Shalom House moved to the corner of West and Green streets at 304 W Green St., where it continues to serve meals today. This little white house was renovated into a dine-in facility where free community meals are served weekly on Tuesdays, Saturdays and the last Thursday of the month. All are welcome.
Before stepping into the house, you’ll notice our free lending library located in front. It is a common sight to see neighbors of all ages visiting the lending library throughout the week. Mystery novels, children’s books, and best-sellers are all donated, borrowed, and returned to the library. Feel free to pick up a book or drop one off on your next visit!

Once you enter the Shalom House, you’ll experience what Shalom is all about. Conversations are shared as guests enjoy friendly banter over cups of coffee and the nutritious meal served that day. Diners are our valued guests, and we believe deeply in valuing everyone as individuals. Like any fine restaurant, our guests are warmly welcomed and treated with respect. Volunteer servers bring them their drinks, meals, and desserts.

It’s a friendly, caring atmosphere, where relationships and community are built and thrive. Shalom is taking place. Won’t you join us?
