With your help and continued support, this grand vision can become a reality. Kids don’t have to be hungry anymore. Neighbors don’t have to be isolated from neighbors anymore. Our community is changing, and it’s changing for the better.

Learn more about our Shalom House Hot Meals Program & Our Kids’ Sack Lunch Program.

We support the community through our hot meals program every Tuesday, Saturday, and the last Thursday of the month. In 2022, we served over 20,000 hot meals to Boone County residents. We also care for home-bound residents through our meal delivery service on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Our Shalom Kids Sack Lunch program runs during the weeks public school is closed in Boone County.

Find out how to get involved and support our work.

We are always looking for teams of people to serve in our programs. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to serve others. We schedule teams to serve our hot meals (groups of 6-8 people 13 years and older), deliver home-bound meals (2-3 drivers per meal service), and to set up and pack lunches (8-12 people 12 years and older).

Testimonials

The Shalom House has held a special place in my heart for over 10 years. What started out as looking for a simple volunteer opportunity to teach my young daughter the importance of volunteering turned into SO much more!! The experience has been just as much of a blessing (or more!) to us!
